Getting your Allergies to BEE-HAVE!

April showers bring May flowers….and seasonal allergies for a lot of people. If you’re like me and even non-drowsy allergy meds can leave you a bit foggy headed, you start looking for other possible remedies so  that is what this post is all about my friends!

Have you ever seen a bee sneeze?

No, me either! Those little pollinators are subjected to way higher amounts of pollen than you or I, and yet not so much as a runny nose. (Do bees have noses?) On a serious note though, small amounts of that pollen  ends up in their honey. So the theory is eating more honey may also give you natural antihistamine protection by exposing your body to a small amount of what triggers your seasonal allergies. There is a catch though, you want to make sure it is local honey. Not only are you supporting your local bee and bee farmers, as well as a small business, but bees carry the antihistamines for plants in their area, so to get the most protection from the plants in your vicinity that are making you sick, you want local bee honey!

What better than to put your honey in than a nice cup of allergy tea! If you are local take a little drive and pop into Herb Haven http://www.herbhaven.ca to pick up your chemical free hand-made allergy tea, which I have tried and can honestly say works fantastic, and again you are supporting small and local business.
